Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU for a 12-week assignment in Phoenix, Arizona. As a PICU RN, you will provide specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support families in a fast-paced hospital environment.

This travel role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a dedicated clinical team. The position requires one year of PICU RN experience, an active RN license, BLS, and PALS or ENPC certification;

Qualifications

• One year of recent PICU RN experience
• Valid RN license per state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
• PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to pediatric patients and families to ensure understanding and support
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following pediatric nursing protocols
• Prepare and operate advanced medical equipment (ventilators, central line setups, hemodynamic monitors)
• Continuously observe and evaluate patient conditions and notify physicians of changes
• Monitor and interpret vital signs to detect deviations and initiate rapid interventions
• Respond to life-saving situations per pediatric ICU standards
• Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physician/hospital policy
• Document relevant history and assessments in medical records
• Perform other duties within the scope of practice
• Adhere to hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
