Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing opportunity in Seattle, WA.

The PICU RN will provide critical care to pediatric patients as part of a broader medical team, collaborating with physicians, specialists, and families to ensure the best care. Requirements include BLS, PALS, and 2 years of acute care experience. This travel assignment features 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week, and potential tax-free stipends.

Qualifications

• BLS and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience.
• Travel nurse with PICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' vital signs and initiate corrective action as needed.
• Follow continuous cardiac and respiratory monitor readings (EKG, O2 stats, CVP/arterial lines) and report changes.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs (central venous and arterial).
• Monitor and adjust ventilators and other critical care equipment.
• Assist physicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures, including life-saving situations.
• Assist with insertion/discontinuation of CV catheters, arterial lines, external ventricular drains, Foley catheters, epidural catheters, and endotracheal tubes.
