Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) seeks a SWAT nurse to support NICU, PICU and Cardiac ICU across Philadelphia and King of Prussia campuses. This full‑time role offers rotating shifts, every third weekend and holiday requirements, with 0.5 to 1.0 FTE and a minimum of 2 years inpatient pediatric ICU experience.

The SWAT nurse provides independent, safe, high‑quality care, collaborates with care teams, documents care, and participates in unit councils within the Flex Team.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years inpatient pediatric ICU experience.
• Nursing licensure and certifications as required.
• Ability to document and communicate patient status clearly.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe nursing care using the Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Collaborate with family and care team to plan and discharge care.
• Manage care of complex patients with proper prioritization and delegation.
• Document ongoing evaluation and outcomes per hospital standards.
• Participate in unit councils and contribute to quality initiatives.
