Job summary

Volo Sports in San Jose, CA is seeking a Pickleball Instructor for our Club Volo venue in Downtown San Jose. In this role you will instruct all levels from beginner to advanced and conduct group and private lessons.

You will design and implement lesson plans, demonstrate pickleball techniques, evaluate participants for placement, assist with member retention activities and events, help with venue upkeep, and enforce policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to instruct all levels from beginner to advanced.
• Ability to conduct group and private pickleball lessons.
• Experience designing and implementing lesson plans.
• Ability to demonstrate pickleball techniques.
• Ability to evaluate participants for placement in lessons/leagues.

Job Description

Are you someone who enjoys pickleball and would like to share your knowledge of the sport with others? Volo Sports is hiring Pickleball Instructors for our very own Pickleball clinics, at our new Club Volo venue located in Downtown San Jose.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Instruct all levels from beginner to advanced
• Conduct group and private lessons
• Design and implement lesson plans
• Ability to demonstrate Pickleball techniques
• Able to properly evaluate participants for placement in lesson groups or leagues
• Program development: assist in developing and coordinating member retention activities, maintain accurate records for classes, assist in development of new opportunities for members by offering insight and input
• Assist with court cleanliness and general maintenance
• Enforcement of venue policies and rules
• Demonstrate accountability to schedule by starting and ending sessions on time and avoiding missed
• Assist with promotional activities and events
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during interactions and in ongoing work-related relationships with all persons

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Candidates must be reliable, mature, courteous, professional and have knowledge/experience playing or instructing Pickleball
• Must have excellent customer service/communication skills
• Must be comfortable with reporting safety hazards and responding to First Aid incidents
• Be flexible with scheduling
• Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends
• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
• A car or access to reliable transportation
