Job summary

Greater Austin YMCA seeks a Pickleball Instructor to design and deliver engaging lessons, clinics, and programs for all ages and skill levels. You will support daily court operations, set up and break down equipment, and provide personalized coaching to improve technique and enjoyment of the game.

You will communicate schedules and program details, administer first aid when needed, and stay current with pickleball trends to ensure high-quality instruction in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience teaching pickleball to youth or adults across skill levels.
• IPTPA Certified Teaching Professional.
• First Aid/CPR certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of employment).
• Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging pickleball lessons, clinics, and programs for varied skill levels.
• Support daily court operations, including setup and breakdown of equipment.
• Provide personalized coaching and constructive feedback to improve technique and enjoyment.
• Serve as a welcoming, professional point of contact and communicate schedules and program details.
• Administer first aid when needed and complete incident reports per YMCA safety protocols.
• Stay informed on current pickleball trends and teaching methods to ensure quality instruction.
• Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment and encourage participation.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and events as required.
