GridHawk LLC is seeking a Midnight Shift Leaks Survey Operator in Fort Wayne, IN. You will detect and classify natural gas leaks, perform surveys on transmission and distribution systems, and complete meticulous documentation to support safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires high school level education, a background in the natural gas industry is preferred, and training to obtain required operator qualifications will be provided. A background check and DOT drug test are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Background in the Natural Gas Industry is preferred but not required.
• All employees will obtain Natural Gas Leak Survey Operator Qualifications upon hiring. Training will consist of 4-6 Weeks and involve both classroom and field performances.
• Candidate must complete a background check with no violations within the last 5 years.
• Candidate MUST also pass a DOT drug test.

Responsabilités

• Perform leakage surveys on natural gas transmission and distribution systems; classify hazard levels.
• Complete leak documentation and notifications; maintain records of leak survey activity.
• Repair above-ground leaks when practical.
• Conduct both inside and outside leak investigations in a thorough and professional manner.
• Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and state regulatory requirements; coordinate with Leak Survey supervisor.
• Travel as required; use company vehicle and equipment as assigned.

This is a midnight shift

Detects and classifies natural gas system leaks by using advanced technology, including scheduled and specially requested leakage surveys, using a variety of leak detection tools on both walking and mobile surveys. Applies training to identify immediate hazardous situations to protect life and property.

Performs leakage surveys on natural gas transmission and distribution systems using mobile and portable leak detection equipment. Exercises judgment in properly classifying and grading leak indications as to the level of hazard. Completes all required leak documentation and notifications. Maintains documentation of all leak survey activity. Repairs above ground leaks when practical. Conducts both inside and outside leak investigations in a thorough and professional manner. Adheres to company policies, procedures, safe work practices and standards. Knows and complies with O.S.H.A., D.O.T., and State regulatory requirements of leak survey, leak investigation, operations, and gas distribution operations in general. Works with Leak Survey supervisor on reporting, training, scheduling, equipment, and productivity issues.

Education: Requires a high school diploma or GED

Requirements: Able to hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as telephone or mobile phone. Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop, for extended periods Able to reach, grasp and move items. Able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time. Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects Able to travel occasionally, possibly overnight
