Job summary

School of Rock Dunwoody is seeking a Piano/Keys Teacher to lead private lessons and school performances. You’ll help students develop solid fundamentals while showcasing progress in regular shows.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years teaching or performance experience, strong music theory knowledge, and excellent communication with families. You’ll plan engaging lessons, collaborate with staff, and maintain a positive, safety-conscious classroom.

• 3+ years of teaching or performance experience in music.
• Strong knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent communication with parents and students.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals of music, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons.
• Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school.
• Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school.
• Adheres to the School of Rock Code of Conduct, safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy.

We are looking for a Piano/keys Teacher to join us at our School of Rock Dunwoody location.

Music Instruction

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows
• Be sure the students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans

• Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons
• Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school

Skill Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
• Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people

• Works well under pressure
• Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
