Job summary

Eagle Integrated Services, LLC seeks a Laboratory/Research Technician specializing in physiological and pharmacological research with non-human primates and swine to support USAMRICD.

You will monitor animals, collect data, and assist surgical procedures for telemetry implants. The ideal candidate has a biology- or psychology-related degree, animal care protocol experience, and is proficient with Excel and data analysis while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pharmacology and neuroscience and applied medical defense research
• Experience executing animal use protocols
• Experience handling small animals (rats preferred) or 1+ years in animal/husbandry research
• Experience with Excel, Prism, DSI hardware and software
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Adaptability to new research team/project assignments

Responsibilities

• Monitor animal subjects daily for USAMRICD studies.
• Handle animals including restraint, health/behavior evaluation, weight tracking, and administration of compounds.
• Assist in pre-, surgical, and post-surgical procedures for telemetry implants.
• Habituate test animals to behavioral equipment and restraint devices.
• Perform daily data collection and notebook entries, and daily reports to the PI.
• Procure and manage animals, supplies and equipment to meet milestones.
• Perform physiological monitoring as required.
• Ensure procedures and data comply with regulatory requirements.
• Schedule experiments including drug preparation, blood sampling and physiological monitoring.
• Perform solubility studies and record findings in notebooks.
• Perform behavioral testing (open field, rotarod, shuttle box).
• Blood collection, perfusion, and tissue dissection.
• Immunohistochemical staining and microscopy analyses.
• Assist with development of protocols and SOPs; maintain safe lab environment.
