Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) seeks a full-time Physician Advisor for the Kings County Department of Medicine to lead utilization management and drive documentation quality. The role requires board eligibility or certification in internal medicine, NY licensure, and a few years of advisor experience.

Qualifications

• Board eligible or board certified in internal medicine.
• Licensed to practice in New York State.
• 1–2 years of physician advisor experience.

Responsabilités

• Identify denial trends, perform root cause analysis and implement prevention strategies with documentation best practices.
• Collaborate with ED to reduce avoidable admissions and improve level-of-care documentation at entry.
• Educate physicians and case managers on MCG and inter-Qual criteria for admissions and documentation.
• Participate in performance improvement projects across Kings County and system programs.
• Review records to support utilization management and align with regulatory standards and payer guidelines.
• Work with physicians, nurses, case managers and administrators to align utilization management and care coordination workflows.
• Contribute to development and refinement of utilization management policies and workflows.
