Job summary

Barton Associates seeks a skilled Urologist for a 5-day assignment in Maryland. The physician will cover 24-hour call shifts, handle inpatient rounds, consults, and emergent procedures at a Trauma facility, managing around 10 patients daily with rapid response times.

Responsibilities include cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, laser lithotripsy, TURP, urologic biopsies, drain placements, and major surgeries as needed. BLS and IRB-compliant protocol adherence apply.

Qualifications

• Board-certified Urology required.
• Inpatient setting experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with 24-hour call shifts preferred.

Our client in MD seeks a skilled Urologist for a 5-day assignment. This role involves 24-hour call shifts over specific holiday periods, focusing on general and emergent urology procedures. The Physician will handle inpatient rounds, consults, and emergency procedures at a Trauma facility, managing an average of 10 patients daily including admissions and consults.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive general and emergent urology services during scheduled 24-hour call shifts.
• Conduct inpatient rounds, manage consults (1-3 daily), and handle admissions (1-3 daily).
• Oversee an average of 10 patients per day.
• Maintain a rapid 30-minute response time for critical situations.
• Operate within a Trauma III facility setting.
• Perform procedures including cystoscopy, ureteroscopy and laser lithotripsy, and kidney and bladder stone removal.
• Execute ureteral stent placement and removal, TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate), prostate biopsy, vasectomy, and circumcision.
• Manage hydrocelectomy, scrotal and testicular procedures, suprapubic catheter placement, and Foley catheter placement and management.
• Conduct bladder tumor resection (TURBT), nephrectomy (kidney removal), and prostatectomy.
• Treat urinary retention and hematuria.
• Address emergency urologic procedures, such as testicular torsion and obstructing kidney stones.
