Job summary

Meritus Health is seeking a Board-certified or board-eligible Family Medicine physician to provide comprehensive outpatient primary care with the ability to manage prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care in Hagerstown, MD. The role includes performing primary cesarean sections and coordinating newborn and pediatric care within a collaborative practice.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary with a $315,000 base, a $50,000 sign-on, and relocation assistance up to $50,000,

Qualifications

Description

$315,000 Salary + $50,000 Sign-On Bonus + Up to $50,000 Relocation

Position Highlights

• Full-spectrum Family Medicine practice
• Provide outpatient primary care to patients of all ages
• Manage prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care

Clinical Practice

This position offers the opportunity to practice comprehensive Family Medicine while providing the full continuum of obstetrical care.

Outpatient Primary Care

• Routine wellness examinations and preventive care
• Acute illness evaluation and treatment
• Chronic disease management
• Women’s health and reproductive care
• Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric care
• Coordination of specialty referrals and follow-up services

Obstetric Care

Provide comprehensive maternity services throughout pregnancy and delivery, including:

• Prenatal and antepartum care
• Labor management
• Primary surgical cesarean sections
• Evaluation and management of obstetrical concerns
• Collaboration with OB/GYN physicians and other maternity care professionals

Surgical Responsibilities

• Perform primary cesarean sections
• Assist with maternity-related surgical procedures
• Evaluate patients for operative delivery
• Maintain surgical obstetrics competency and required case documentation
• Participate in quality and patient-safety initiatives related to maternal care

Newborn & Pediatric Care

• Provide initial newborn examinations and hospital care
• Conduct pediatric wellness visits and developmental screenings
• Educate parents regarding feeding, safety, immunizations, and developmental milestones
• Coordinate specialty care when medically necessary

Qualifications & Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
• Completion of a post-residency Surgical Obstetrics fellowship or documented competency and case experience performing cesarean sections
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine
• Eligible to obtain an unrestricted Maryland medical license
• Eligible for hospital medical staff privileges, including surgical obstetrics privileges
• Current or obtainable DEA registration
• Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

• Collaborative team of Family Medicine physicians, OB/GYNs, advanced practice providers, nurses, and maternity care professionals
• Coordinated inpatient and outpatient services
• Access to specialty referrals and diagnostic resources
