Job summary

The Division of Rheumatic and Autoimmune Diseases at the University of Minnesota seeks a physician-scientist to lead basic immunology research with translation to human autoimmune disease, while providing 25% clinical rheumatology care within the Fairview Health System.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree documented in application materials.
  • Completion of ABIM-accredited rheumatology fellowship.
  • Prior clinical experience in rheumatology and immunobiology research.

Responsibilities

  • Lead NIH-funded research on development and maintenance of T cell immune tolerance.
  • Oversee study design, regulatory compliance, and mentoring of staff.
  • Develop independent projects and secure funding.
  • Disseminate findings via publications and presentations.
  • Contribute to grant writing and future funding proposals.
  • Provide outpatient clinical care for rheumatic diseases within Fairview/UMN system.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows; maintain clinical excellence.
