Title

Physician – Rheumatologist

Location

BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, Michigan

Responsibilities

• See patients in the clinic Monday–Friday.
• Participate in an equitable practice call rotation with very limited inpatient consultations.
• Work alongside four physicians and one APP.
• Hospital employed full‑time with flexible scheduling.
• Diagnose illnesses, prescribe and administer treatment for patients with rheumatic disease.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Provide counseling for preventive healthcare, hygiene, and diet; educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection.
• Determine referrals, urgency levels, and follow‑up appointments.
• Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs; order studies, tests, and ancillary services.
• Document all services in the patient medical record and review long‑term cases.
• Consult with Medical Director and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.
• Participate in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs.
• Oversee mid‑level medical staff and nursing clinical staff as assigned; assist in resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations.
• Demonstrate commitment to providing outstanding customer service in alignment with the mission, values, and service standards.

Qualifications
