Job summary

Arcare is seeking a compassionate Rheumatologist to join our medical provider team in Arkansas. You will diagnose, treat, and manage autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders across the lifespan.

The ideal candidate will have an MD or DO, fellowship in Rheumatology, board eligibility, Arkansas license, and strong clinical judgment. CPR certification and residency credentials are required, with a commitment to collaborative care.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency in Internal Medicine with fellowship in Rheumatology.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology (preferred).
  • Current medical license in the state of Arkansas.
  • CPR certification required upon employment or within the first 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Prescribe or administer rheumatologic care to treat or manage disease and improve patient outcomes.
  • Order, perform, and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans, including biologic and immunosuppressive therapies.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information and treatment plans.
  • Explain medical procedures, test results, and treatments to patients and families.
  • Advise patients on disease management, lifestyle changes, and preventive care strategies.
  • Refer patients to specialists when needed.
  • Coordinate activities of nurses, assistants, and other staff.
  • Work with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

  • Order, perform, and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic tests to evaluate and monitor rheumatologic conditions.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, including management of biologic and immunosuppressive therapies.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history, examination results, and treatment plans.
  • Explain medical procedures, test results, and treatments to patients and their families.
  • Advise patients on disease management, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and preventive care strategies.
  • Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare practitioners when needed.
  • Coordinate and direct activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including primary care providers, nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, and psychologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
