The Department of Radiation Oncology is an essential component of the University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC), a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer through patient care, research, and education. The departments mission is to teach students and house staff, excel at clinical and clinical-translational research, and to bring to patients' state-of-the-art treatment. In addition to the provider team, the department has six residents, five physicist staff, and two resident physicists. Dosimetrists, therapists, nurses, medical assistants, and other administrative staff support the department. The qualified candidate will have an academic appointment with the University of Arizona consistent with their credentials.
