Job summary

Northbay Health (Napa) is seeking a Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Physician for outpatient care in Napa, CA. This W2, 1.0 FTE role offers a total compensation of $470,000 to $515,000+ with base salary and incentives.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and managing pulmonary and sleep disorders in adults, coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring high-quality patient-centered care with EMR documentation and ongoing quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with CA license.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine care to adults.
• Diagnose and manage asthma, COPD, chronic cough and other pulmonary conditions.
• Evaluate and treat sleep disorders including OSA, insomnia, hypersomnia, RLS, circadian disorders.
• Interpret diagnostic testing (PFTs, HSAT, polysomnography) and manage PAP therapy.
• Collaborate with primary care, specialists, respiratory therapists, sleep technologists, and staff.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, plans, and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain EMR documentation and participate in quality initiatives.

Job description

At Northbay Health (Napa) the Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Physician provides comprehensive outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine services, with a strong emphasis on the diagnosis and management of sleep-related disorders in an ambulatory setting. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for adults with pulmonary and sleep conditions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary clinical team to optimize patient outcomes.

Location: Napa, Ca

Inpatient/Outpatient Responsibilities: Outpatient only

Daily Patient Census: Average 18-20 patients per day

Equipment/Resources: Access to state-of-the-art medical equipment and comprehensive resources

Provider Support: Collaborative team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine care to adult patients.
• Diagnose and manage a broad range of pulmonary conditions including asthma, COPD, chronic cough, interstitial lung disease, and other respiratory disorders.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia, restless leg syndrome, and circadian rhythm disorders.
• Interpret and manage diagnostic testing including pulmonary function tests (PFTs), home sleep apnea testing (HSAT), polysomnography, and other pulmonary and sleep-related studies.
• Manage PAP therapy, including CPAP and BiPAP treatment plans and compliance monitoring.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, respiratory therapists, sleep technologists, and clinical staff to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding pulmonary and sleep conditions, treatment plans, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR). EPIC
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development activities as appropriate
• Collaborate with and supervise APPs to enhance patient care

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine.
• Active and unrestricted California medical license (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine Physician (W2, 1.0 FTE)

Total compensation of $470,000 to $515,000+

• Base salary of $414,117, plus production and quality incentives
• Eligible for up to $10,000 sign-on bonus and up to $10,000 relocation
• Eligible for retention bonuses starting in Year 2
• Optional paid ICU shifts
• $8,000 a year for CME and dues
