Job summary

Saratoga Medical (DBA Saratoga Ascend) is seeking a qualified Physician – Psychiatry for an onsite role with Maricopa County Correctional Health Services in Phoenix, AZ. The position requires an experienced psychiatrist to deliver comprehensive mental health services in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities include clinical assessments, treatment planning, prescription of medications per formulary, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical program.
• Completion of an accredited U.S. Psychiatry Residency or Fellowship.
• Current, valid, unrestricted Arizona Psychiatrist license.
• Current Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the Arizona Medical Board.
• Current DEA/Controlled Substance Registration Certificate for Schedule II, III, and IV medications.
• Current NPI verification.
• Current N95 fit testing.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Psychiatrist.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric consultations, patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Evaluate new admissions and re-evaluate patients as needed.
• Prescribe medications according to the CHS Pharmacy Formulary.
• Manage involuntary treatment, including court-ordered evaluations and involuntary medications.
• Participate in the Mental Health Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and coordinate with the Forensic Team.
• Develop psychiatric protocols and clinical practice guidelines for the correctional setting.
• Assist with licensure and accreditation surveys.
