  • Education: Doctor of Medicine or equivalent allopathic or osteopathic degree from an approved VA school.
  • License: Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or D.C.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training accredited by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, leading to eligibility for board certification. (Alternatively, one or more specified training pathways apply.)
  • Residents in accredited programs who would otherwise meet basic requirements may be appointed as “Physician Resident Providers” (PRPs) under specific conditions.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Preferred Experience: Women’s Health providers with experience in the WH‑PCP model, team‑based patient‑centered medicine, chronic disease management, and coordinated care across specialties.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform light lifting under 15 pounds, walk, stand, bend, and meet specified vision and hearing requirements.
Duties
  • Work collaboratively with other health professionals to achieve patient‑service and medical center goals, promoting the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model and ICARE values.
  • Provide comprehensive Women’s Health and Primary Care for female Veterans, including gender‑specific screenings, contraceptive care, STI treatment, menopause management, and evaluation of pelvic and abdominal issues.

  • Manage medication orders and adjust treatment plans as needed.
