Job summary

University Hospitals Cleveland is seeking a General Physiatrist to provide inpatient care across joint-venture community hospitals and, potentially, acute hospital consults. Outpatient duties may include neurological rehab, musculoskeletal, amputee care, EMG, chemodenervation, and imaging-guided procedures.

On-call duties are expected with limited frequency, and a faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine may be available.

Qualifications

  • Fellowship training in some specialties (Required)
  • Knowledge of medical evaluation and treatment principles.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Experience using EPIC is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

General Physiatrist – University Hospitals Cleveland

This physician will provide inpatient care at one our joint-venture community hospitals, and possibly acute hospital consults. Outpatient duties could include a choice of neurological rehabilitation, musculoskeletal, amputee, EMG, chemodenervation, fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided procedures. On-call responsibilities at the rehabilitation hospitals will be expected, but at a frequency of no more than one every five weekends, with internal medicine co-coverage.Candidates will also be eligible to for a faculty appointment in the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, commensurate with prior academic rank and/or experience. A generous recruitment package is included and productivity-incentivized compensation model is available. Our Division of PM&R is headquartered in the Department of Orthopaedics, with multiple community practice locations, three dedicated inpatient rehabilitation facilities, and a large and diverse PM&R faculty.

Education
  • Doctorate Degree Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy with an unrestricted license (Required)
  • Appointment with CWRU SOM at the level commensurate with experience (Required)
Work Experience
  • Fellowship Training in some specialties (Required)

  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. (Required proficiency)
