  • Ensure timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment in Epic.

Position Summary

The Pediatric Nephrologist delivers comprehensive, family centered care to infants, children, and adolescents with acute and chronic kidney disorders in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This role emphasizes diagnostic evaluation, longitudinal management of renal disease, coordination of multidisciplinary care, and partnership with families to support each child’s health, development, and quality of life. Pediatric nephrologists also serve as clinical partners in quality improvement efforts and multidisciplinary care teams aligned with institutional goals.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage children with a wide range of kidney and urinary tract conditions, including congenital anomalies, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, and hypertension.
  • Provide outpatient consultations and inpatient support in coordination with our pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and subspecialists.
  • Educate patients and their families about kidney health, disease management, and preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members to coordinate care plans.
  • Provide medical guidance to nursing staff and ensure timely documentation of patient interactions, diagnosis, and treatment within Epic.
  • Maintain an evidence-based clinical practice focused on managing kidney disease and delaying its progression.
  • Show excellent bedside manner and communication skills.
  • Contribute to program development, including potential future dialysis and transplant services.
  • Educate medical students and residents.
Requirements
