Job summary

WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital in Morgantown seeks a BE/BC Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist who can participate in both General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, for appointment at Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank.

The candidate will support our patient population at the Children’s Hospital campus and statewide via outreach clinics, telemedicine, and diagnostic testing, and will teach medical students and fellows.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and eligible for a state medical license.
• Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.
• For higher rank (Associate Professor/Professor) demonstrated leadership, strong communication, and publications in high-impact journals.
• All qualifications must be met by time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Practice in all areas of Pediatric Interventional Cardiology and participate in General Cardiology.
• Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

is seeking a BE/BC Pediatric InterventionalCardiologist who can participate in both General Cardiology andInterventional Cardiology qualified for appointment at theAssistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. Thesuccessful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown,WV.

The successful candidate will join our growing Division ofPediatric Cardiology and will support our patient population on theChildren's Hospital campus and throughout the state through ourrobust pediatric cardiology outreach program that includes outreachclinics, telemedicine clinics and outreach diagnostic testing. Wecurrently have specialists in the areas of general cardiology,advanced imaging (cardiac CT & cardiac MRI), interventionalcatheterization, noninvasive and invasive electrophysiology, fetalcardiology, adult congenital heart disease, cardiopulmonaryexercise testing (CPET), cardio-obstetrics, and preventivecardiology. We have a robust and successful PediatricCardiothoracic Surgery program including complex neonatal repairs,adult congenital surgery, and ECMO. It is the only pediatric heartsurgery program in the state. We have an ACGME approved PediatricCardiology training program.

Duties

• The successful candidate will practice in all areas of Pediatric Interventional Cardiology and participate in both General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.
• In addition to providing excellent patient care, he or she will be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreignequivalent and be eligible to obtain a state medical license.
• Candidates must be board certified / eligible in PediatricCardiology.
• For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professorrank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellentcommunication skills, and publications in high-impact journals arerequired.
• All qualifications must be met by the time ofappointment.

WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital is a tertiary care centerfor the state of West Virginia, Western Maryland, SouthwesternPennsylvania, as well as southeastern Ohio.

Our new 150 bed Children’s Hospital has a full suite of pediatricoperating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventionalradiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesiastaff.

The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 31PICU beds, a Heart Institute, and a dedicated Cancer Institute.

WVUMedicine Children’s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, withplans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently.

The Women’sPavilion houses a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetalmedicine clinic.

WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital is theonly children’s hospital in the state to have an epilepsymonitoring unit and the only children’s hospital in the state toreceive Magnet status for nursing excellence.

The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia’slargest health system and the state’s largest employer.
