Job summary

WakeMed Physician Practices in Raleigh, NC, seeks BE/BC pediatric intensivists to join our multi-specialty group. This full-time role includes inpatient pediatric critical care and pediatric sedation services, with day and night shifts and 24/7 in-house coverage by attending pediatric intensivists.

The physician will provide quality clinical care, teach residents and medical students, and support coding and compliance.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Medicine (MD) required.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Intensive Care preferred.
• Board eligible or board certified in the area of practice (BE/BC) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical care to pediatric ICU patients.
• Supervise and teach residents, medical students, and APPs within the division.
• Assist with appropriate coding and corporate compliance and support division administration as needed.

WakeMed Physician Practices is a multi-specialty group with over 500 physicians in a variety of specialty areas. We are currently seeking physicians with an interest and fellowship training in Pediatric Intensive Care to join our group in Raleigh, NC. Our team currently consists of 10 physicians. Our physicians provide inpatient pediatric critical care at WakeMed as well as a pediatric sedation service. A typical full-time schedule consists of both day and night shifts in house, with 24-7 coverage by attending pediatric intensivists. Fantastic opportunity for those who have an interest in clinical teaching as our physicians also supervise second-year ED residents who rotate through our pediatric ICU. Qualified candidates must be BE/BC.

The WakeMed Physician is responsible for providing quality clinical care to patients cared for by their division. The Physician may be responsible for providing teaching and supervision to residents, medical students and/or APP's within their division. The Physician is responsible for appropriate coding and corporate compliance and may be responsible for some general administrative responsibilities of the practice. Physician reports directly to the Director of their assigned division and understands and supports the mission values, and management of WakeMed Physician Practices and WakeMed.
