Job summary

University of Minnesota Physicians in Maplewood, MN is seeking a Palliative Care Physician to join our multidisciplinary team serving Maplewood, Woodbury, and the University of Minnesota Medical Center.

You will collaborate with physicians, APPs, social workers, and chaplains to deliver timely, compassionate care, provide consultations across settings, explain diagnoses and prognosis, and coordinate with referring clinicians to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Must complete ACGME Hospice and Palliative Medicine training.
  • Board eligibility or board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
  • Licensed or eligible for medical license and DEA in Minnesota.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, social workers and chaplains to deliver timely access and care.
  • Provide acute care services to patients at M Health Fairview.
  • Offer timely consultations across settings and ensure appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

Job description

We are seeking a Palliative Care Physician to join our practice in Maplewood, Woodbury, and as needed the University of Minnesota Medical Center.

Practice Highlights
  • Work in collaboration with other physicians, APPs, palliative care social workers and chaplains to provide timely access and care to patients with palliative care needs.
  • Provide all necessary acute care services to patients at M Health Fairview.
  • Provide timely consultations to requesting clinicians in different settings, ensure proper care, diagnosis and treatment as necessary.
  • Communicate with patients and families to explain diagnoses, diagnostic or therapeutic treatments, procedures, and prognosis, as well as discuss potential or expected outcomes.
  • Communicate to primary and/or referring physicians.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME Hospice and Palliative Medicine training program.
  • Board eligible/certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
  • Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
Pay and Benefits

The full-time salary is $234,000 commensurate with practice experience and may also include incentive compensation or additional specialty-specific compensation components.

Salary prorated based on FTE.
