Job summary

Avera Ear, Nose & Throat Mitchell in Mitchell, SD is seeking a full-time physician to provide and manage patient care within a defined scope of practice. This role requires medical licensure in the service state and board certification or eligibility, with on-call responsibilities across days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and maintain accurate patient records while upholding safety and care

Qualifications

• Medical Doctor with board certification or board eligibility and licensed to practice in the service state.
• Doctor of Osteopathy with board certification or board eligibility and licensed to practice in the service state.
• DEA license (federal/state) based on state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.
• Provides medical services and health education to patients and family members; contribute to health education and motivate patients to take responsibility for their care.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Interprets diagnostic information and formulates a plan of care.
• Maintains patient records and ensures patient safety and care standards.
• Collaborates with care team and ensures appropriate referrals.
• Upholds practice policies and standards and participates in team meetings.

A Brief Overview

Provides and manages direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care for patients within a recognized area of practice.

What you will do

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.

• Provides medical services and health education to patients and family members. Effectively contributes to the health education of individuals and groups and applies appropriate methods designed to increase each person’s motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care.

• Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

• Interprets information gathered during the diagnostic process and formulates appropriate plan of care.

• Provides quality care for patient, demonstrates appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices.

• Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care. Effectively provides patient instruction related to environment of care and safety standards.

• Understands, applies, and supports practice policies, procedures, goals and standards.

• Meets regularly with the care team for consultation and collaboration as well as with personnel to promote quality care for patients. Assures that appropriate referrals are made for patients.

• Maintains patient records and accurate information.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• Medical Doctor - Board of Medicine Licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided and board certified or board eligible Upon Hire or

• Doctor of Osteopathy - Board of Medicine Licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided and board certified or board eligible and board certified or board eligible Upon Hire and

• Federal Drug Enforcement Admin - US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Admin State and federal DEA license based on state of practice Upon Hire
