Description:We are seeking a Locum Orthopedic Surgery Physician to provide coverage.This position requires both inpatient and call coverage.There are no clinic responsibilities involved.Coverage includes orthopedic call, plus phone consults from regional partners and allied hospitals.The physician must review cases, provide guidance, and accept appropriate patients through the emergency department when needed.The physician is not expected to travel to outside facilities.Emergency cases outside local capability may be directed to a higher level of care.The average daily hospital practice census is 10-20 patients for both locations.The patient population includes all ages.The Electronic Medical Record system used is Epic Enterprise.The physician will perform history and physical exams, diagnose, treat, and provide consultations for various conditions and injuries of the musculoskeletal system.Conditions treated include trauma, infections, tumors, metabolic disturbances, deformities, and degenerative diseases affecting various body parts.Orthopedic surgeons may provide care in the intensive care setting per unit policies.They will also assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions.This opportunity is strictly for locum tenens coverage for on-call shifts.Some nights may receive no calls while others may have a few calls.Successful candidates will possess the required experience and meet all necessary qualifications.
