Physician or Physician Scientist - Cardiovascular Medicine, Director, Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant (Open Rank/Track Faculty)
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a board‑certified/board‑eligible heart failure and transplant physician/physician scientist at the associate professor or professor rank, with an extramurally funded clinical or translational research program to lead an elite team of academic physicians. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in both clinical care and research initiatives, leading the Division's high‑performing heart failure and cardiac transplant team. Responsibilities will include expanding outpatient and inpatient services at the nationally recognized Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital and the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, advancing heart failure research, and mentoring junior faculty and trainees.
The Division is comprised of over 60 cardiologists with focus areas including general cardiology, interventional, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory assist, pulmonary vascular disease, women’s cardiovascular disease, cardiac MRI/CT, and cardio‑oncology. It is affiliated with the Ross Heart Hospital, which has been ranked among the top 50 hospitals in the nation. The Division offers services across more than 12 counties in Ohio and Kentucky and provides an environment where faculty are principal investigators on a variety of research projects.
The DHLRI is a critical partner with the Division, fostering an integrated program encompassing fundamental research, education, and preventive efforts in heart and lung diseases. It supports more than 800 faculty, trainees, and staff across a 220,000‑sq‑ft complex.
The College of Medicine is a Tier‑1 research institution and a Tier‑2 primary‑care institution, with more than 2,700 faculty across 20 clinical departments and eight basic science departments. It continues to advance education, discovery, and community impact through the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
