Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician to join the Riverside clinic team. The role includes clinic, surgery, and on-call duties within a multi-specialty practice and University affiliations.

The position offers 0.8 FTE with a strong referral network, teaching responsibilities, and opportunities to participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology from an accredited program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible with ABMS.
• Licensed or eligible for Minnesota medical licensure.
• DEA certification for Minnesota required/maintained.

Responsibilities

• Provide general patient care with evaluation, plan and treatment.
• Prescribe or administer treatments per plan of care.
• Order/interpret diagnostic tests and follow up.
• Collaborate with Fairview network and refer as needed.
• Maintain EMR per Fairview standards and licensure.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team-based case management.
• Contribute to policy development and quality improvement.

Job Overview

Fairview Health Services is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician to join the multi-specialty practice at M Health Fairview Clinics - Riverside. Join a group of physicians interested in staying on the cutting edge of their field and participating in quality improvement committees.

Practice Details

• Join a team of 8 physicians and 2 WHNP
• Surgery and procedures performed at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and Ambulatory Surgery Center
• Home clinic located at M Health Fairview Clinic – Riverside, with the opportunity to support additional satellite clinic locations as needed
• Full time (0.8 FTE)
• Average of20-24 patientsper day in clinic
• Schedule details: 4 day clinical work week - includesclinic, surgery, on-call time, and administrative time
• Call Coverage: 1:9 shared equally
• Established referral base of Fairview employed primary care and sub -specialty physicians.

Responsibilities

• Provides general patient care involving subjective and objective evaluation, assessment and formulation of a plan of care.
• Prescribes or administers treatment as determined by the plan of care.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs.
• Consults with and make appropriate referral(s) to other health care providers in abnormal or unusual cases. Refers within the Fairview network.
• Maintains the electronic medical record in accordance with Fairview standards and in accordance with licensure and scope.
• Recognizes and appropriately responds to medical emergencies.
• Serves as a patient advocate by maintaining patient confidentiality, protecting patient rights, communicating in a timely manner and resolving concerns or complaints regarding care and service.
• Assists in the development of new policies, programs, procedures or techniques.
• Participates in research, educational or other special projects or programs as needed.
• Dedicates majority of time to providing quality patient care and service. Participates equitably in responsibilities of patient care in designated department.
• May provide work direction to medical support and nursing staff in designated work unit.
• Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
• Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes or workflows.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
• Participate in teaching responsibilities within a university hospital setting.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training program
• Board Certified/Board Eligible with the ABMS
• Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
• Meet threshold criteria/qualification for Credentialing and Privileges

The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills,knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Positions withthe same min/max are flat rate jobs based on 40 hours/week. Compensation plans based on production can allow for higher pay than the range posted.
