Description:We are seeking a locum tenens physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Providers will cover labor and delivery, emergency department, and inpatient consultations.

There will be no office coverage required.

The physician will be in-house for all 24 hours per shift.

A call room will be provided on-site.

The position involves supervision and backup for Family Medicine and Certified Nurse Midwife deliveries.

Responsibilities include performing cesarean sections and responding to obstetric emergencies.

Consultation with a specialist will be available 24/7.

The average patient encounters are 3-5 per shift.

The number of deliveries per year per physician is approximately 364.

The physician should be comfortable managing both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies.

Skills necessary include fetal heart rate interpretation, performing and interpreting OB ultrasounds, and making decisions for cesarean sections.

The physician must also be experienced in managing multiple births and breech deliveries.

Complicated deliveries and the repair of third and fourth-degree lacerations are required skills.

Open surgical gynecology is required.

Laparoscopic procedures may be considered a preference.
