Physician (Neurology) Fort Carson, Colorado

Serve as Staff Neurologist at Evans Army Community Hospital with Defense Health Agency, Intrepid Spirit Center at Fort Carson, CO. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a physician working with traumatic brain injury within the field of neurology, responsible for the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of the full range of outpatients seen in the clinic.
  • Provide recommendations or definitive evaluation for neurology problems in the referral region through phone consultation, telemedicine, and authorization and evaluation of air evacuation patients as appropriate.
  • Initiate, write, and dictate medical summaries for the medical retention boards.
  • Write or dictate physical profiles, medical evaluation boards, fitness for duty evaluations, or other related documentation appropriately.
  • Oversee, teach, and consult with other health care providers (nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical students, interns, residents, and fellows).

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic requirement:

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a U.S. or Canadian accredited medical school.
  • Licensure: Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a physician from a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
  • Graduate training: At least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (e.g., one-year internship or first year of residency).
  • Residency training: Successfully completed accredited residency training in neurology (or equivalent) of at least four years. Experience may not substitute for required residency training.
  • Salary determination: Salary quote provided after acceptance of initial job offer, determined by the Activity Compensation Panel.
Education (Foreign)

If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
