Responsibilities

Position Overview

A well-established practice in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Neurologist to join its growing clinical team. The physician will provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for adult patients with a broad range of neurological conditions.

Essential Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with neurological disorders.
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform detailed neurological examinations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, diagnostic results, and patient goals.
• Manage patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions.
• Order, review, and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, electrodiagnostic testing, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and practice protocols.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and disease management.
• Monitor treatment effectiveness and modify care plans as clinically appropriate.
• Coordinate patient care with primary care providers, specialists, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in referrals, follow-up care, and communication with patients regarding test results and treatment plans.
• Remain current on advances in neurology, evidence-based practices, and emerging treatment options.
• Support quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Participate in practice meetings and other activities that support the success of the clinical team.

Areas of Practice

Experience or interest in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

• General neurology
• Headache and migraine disorders
• Epilepsy and seizure disorders
• Multiple sclerosis
• Movement disorders
• Parkinson’s disease
• Neuropathy and neuromuscular disorders
• Stroke and cerebrovascular disease
• Dementia and cognitive disorders
• Sleep-related neurological conditionsConcussion and traumatic brain injury
• Neuroimmunology or other specialized areas of neurology

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited Neurology residency program.
• Current, unrestricted medical license in the State of Georgia, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and patient-management skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard clinical technology.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to ethical, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fellowship training in a neurological subspecialty.
• Prior experience in an outpatient neurology practice.
• Experience with EMG, EEG, Botox therapy, infusion therapy, or other neurology-related procedures, depending on practice needs.
• Interest in developing or expanding a clinical subspecialty.
• Established professional relationships within the Atlanta medical community.
