Job summary

Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin in Austin, TX, seeks an OB hospitalist for a brand-new flagship program. This PRN role emphasizes clinical excellence, patient safety, and shaping a high-quality obstetric service across multiple sites.

Role supports 12-hour and 24-hour shift models with flexible scheduling, enabling coverage across our Austin-area facilities while maintaining work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency.
• Board certification or eligibility by ABOG.
• Active Texas medical license (or eligibility) and DEA registration by start date.
• Experience as OB hospitalist preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide round-the-clock obstetric care across facilities.
• Ensure patient safety and high-quality interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across sites.
• Flexible PRN scheduling with 12-hour or 24-hour shifts.

Additional Requirements

Completion of an accredited residency in Obstetrics & GynecologyBoard Certified or Board Eligible by ABOGCurrent Texas medical license (or eligibility) and DEA registration by start datePrior experience as an OB hospitalist or in high-acuity obstetrics preferred but not required.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:~ Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:~ Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
