Job summary

Marana Health is seeking a Physician to join the Medical team at the Marana Main Health Center in Marana, Arizona.

The Physician provides comprehensive medical services with independent judgment and collaborates with the care team to support high-quality patient care and continuity.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree required.
  • Current license to practice medicine in the State of Arizona required.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or applicable specialty required.
  • BLS certification (may be completed with MH upon hire).
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive patient care in an outpatient primary care setting under Site Medical Director supervision.
  • Provide preventive, acute, and chronic medical care within licensure and board certification.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations, health assessments, and age-appropriate preventive care services.
  • Diagnose, treat, and monitor acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence-based practices.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging as appropriate.
  • Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Educate patients about diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, nutrition, and prevention.
  • Collaborate with care teams to support continuity of care.
  • Refer patients to specialists and ensure proper documentation for continuity of care.
  • Document encounters and care plans per standards and regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and organizational programs.
  • Attend provider/committee meetings and organizational initiatives.
  • Contribute to after-hours call rotation and provider coverage if applicable.
  • Maintain licensure, board certification, CME, and other certifications.
  • Promote community awareness through outreach and health fairs.
  • Perform duties with professionalism, confidentiality, and patient-centered care.
  • Participate in other duties as assigned by Site Medical Director/Chief Clinical Officer.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.

Marana Health is seeking a Physician to join the Medical team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in Marana, Arizona.

The Physician promotes and maintains patients’ health by providing comprehensive medical services to the extent licensed and/or certified. The Physician uses independent judgment in carrying out daily job responsibilities while collaborating with providers and interdisciplinary care teams to support quality patient care and continuity of services.

Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 11 sites in Tucson and Pima County.Our mission is to improve our community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.

The following qualifications are required:
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school required.
  • Current license to practice medicine in the State of Arizona is required.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or applicable specialty required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be completed with MH upon hire).
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety required.
The following qualifications are preferred:
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a medical practice setting preferred.
  • Experience in a group practice, community health center, or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

This position has the following supervisory responsibilities:

  • Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment in assessing situations, making decisions, and delivering patient-centered care.
  • Knowledge of community health principles, public health issues, and healthcare delivery systems.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based diagnostic procedures and treatment practices within an outpatient primary care setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacology, nutrition, behavioral health, and disease prevention.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and analyze medical records, regulations, policies, and clinical documentation.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems and standard documentation practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Under the general supervision of the Site Medical Director, delivers comprehensive patient care in an outpatient primary care setting.
  • Provides preventive, acute, and chronic medical care to patients within scope of licensure and board certification.
  • Performs comprehensive physical examinations, health assessments, and age-appropriate preventive care services.
  • Diagnoses, treats, and monitors acute and chronic medical conditions utilizing evidence-based medical practices.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and imaging as appropriate.
  • Prescribes medications and develops individualized treatment plans in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Provides patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, nutrition, disease prevention, and health maintenance.
  • Collaborates with providers, nursing staff, behavioral health, care coordination, and interdisciplinary care teams to support comprehensive patient care and continuity of services.
  • Refers patients to specialty providers and community resources as appropriate and ensures proper documentation to support continuity of care.
  • Documents patient encounters, treatment plans, referrals, and all other pertinent patient information in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives, clinical outcome improvement activities, peer review activities, and organizational programs designed to support quality patient care and patient safety.
  • Participates in provider meetings, committee meetings, and organizational initiatives as requested.
  • Contributes to after-hours call rotation, hospital coverage, and other provider coverage responsibilities, if applicable.
  • Maintains current licensure, board certification, continuing medical education (CME), and all required certifications.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education, professional development activities, and participation in relevant professional organizations.
  • Promotes community awareness of healthcare services through participation in community outreach activities, health fairs, and educational events as requested.
  • Performs patient care responsibilities in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, confidentiality, and patient-centered care.
  • Participates in other assigned duties as designated by the Site Medical Director and/or Chief Clinical Officer.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.
