Physician - Infectious Diseases - Immunocompromised Specialist (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

Department: The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center – an academic Infectious Diseases physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases/Department of Internal Medicine.

Position Overview

The Division of Infectious Diseases is actively recruiting an Infectious Diseases specialist with interest and/or expertise in the immunocompromised host. The physician will provide consultative services in the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital, a NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, with additional service opportunities in the solid organ transplant service. The physician will also maintain an ambulatory longitudinal care clinic, participate in the OPAT program (approximately 2,200 patients), and engage in teaching of fellows, housestaff, medical students, and allied professionals. Scholarly activities, including clinical research and quality improvement, and committee work are expected. Interest in managing immunocompromised patients—especially those with hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, or undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation—is required; experience with this population is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Respond to consultation requests; diagnose, prescribe, and implement treatment plans with appropriate medications.
• Provide instructional training to fellows, housestaff, medical students, and ancillary staff.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities.
