NorthShore University HealthSystem in Illinois is seeking a Physician - Hospitalist to provide comprehensive inpatient care, perform initial assessments, diagnose, and treat patients during hospitalization. You will collaborate with specialists, nurses, and support staff to develop individualized treatment plans, participate in rounds and case conferences, and maintain accurate records.

A Doctorate in Medicine and an active Illinois medical license are required; a 2-year guaranteed salary range

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality, evidence-based medical care to patients admitted to the hospital, including initial assessments, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including specialists, nurses, and support staff, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Monitoring and managing the medical conditions of inpatients, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Performing procedures and interventions as required, such as central line placement, intubation, and lumbar punctures.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes, orders, and discharge summaries.
• Communicating effectively with patients and their families, providing information about diagnoses, treatment options, and expectations for recovery.
• Participating in daily patient rounds, case conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings to review and coordinate patient care.
• Staying current with medical knowledge, research, and best practices through continuous professional development and education.
