Job summary

US Heart and Vascular's APEX Cardiovascular Group in Knoxville is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Cardiologist to help build a new cardiology service line in East Tennessee. This full-time position offers a ground-floor opportunity with an established vascular surgery team, access to advanced imaging including PET/CT, an ambulatory surgery center, and a two-year partnership track with equity participation.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with board certification/eligibility in cardiovascular disease.
  • Outpatient general cardiology proficiency and patient management.
  • Experience with preoperative clearance and risk assessment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general cardiovascular consultations and longitudinal patient care.
  • Perform outpatient diagnostic testing and interpret results within scope.
  • Collaborate with vascular surgeons, imaging, and primary care networks to grow patient access.

General CardiologistKnoxville, TennesseeHelp Build a New Cardiology Service Line in East TennesseeA rare opportunity to shape a new cardiology program in a newly renovated Knoxville office with dedicated clinical space, advanced imaging capabilities including PET/CT, and access to an established ambulatory surgery center.The OpportunityAPEX Cardiovascular Group, part of US Heart and Vascular, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Cardiologist to join our growing cardiovascular practice in Knoxville, Tennessee. This is a ground-floor opportunity for a physician who wants to help develop a new cardiology service line while practicing alongside an established vascular surgery team with a strong regional presence.The incoming physician will step into a market with an existing patient base, active referral relationships, a dedicated physician referral specialist, and ongoing community outreach designed to support early practice growth. The position offers the resources of a growing national cardiovascular organization while preserving local clinical decision-making and physician autonomy.A New Knoxville Practice EnvironmentThe cardiology program will be based in Knoxville in a newly renovated central office designed to support coordinated cardiovascular care. Responsibilities are expected to include:General cardiovascular consultations, evaluation, and longitudinal patient managementOutpatient diagnostic testing and interpretation within the physician’s scope and credentialsCardiac risk assessment and preoperative clearance for patients within the existing surgical referral pipelineCollaboration with vascular surgeons, advanced practice providers, imaging staff, and clinical teamsDevelopment of strong relationships with primary care physicians and other referring providers throughout Knoxville and East TennesseeParticipation in the continued development of the practice’s cardiology services, quality standards, and patient access strategyQualificationsMD or DO degree from an accredited medical schoolBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular DiseaseCompletion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease fellowshipEligible for an unrestricted Tennessee medical license and applicable hospital or facility privilegesCommitment to collaborative, high-quality, patient-centered careInterest in helping build and grow a new cardiology service lineWhy Knoxville?Knoxville offers an outstanding combination of professional opportunity and quality of life.
