Banner University Medicine Center-University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix (BUMC-UACOMP) seeks an IBD Specialist to serve as an academic leader within Gastroenterology/Hepatology. The role combines clinical care with research leadership and education across the division.

The successful candidate will advance patient-centered IBD care, build translational studies, mentor junior faculty and fellows, and collaborate across surgery, pathology, and radiology to integrate care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification in Gastroenterology.
• Eligible for licensure in AZ.
• Established track record in IBD clinical care and academic scholarship.
• Strong record of clinical/translational research in IBD.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience.
• Eligibility for appointment at Assistant/Associate Professor level.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the IBD program, including clinical operations, research initiatives, and educational programs.
• Develop and expand a multidisciplinary, patient-centered IBD care model.
• Lead and grow a robust clinical research program with institutional support.
• Mentor junior faculty, fellows, and trainees in clinical practice and research.

Banner University Medicine Center-University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix (BUMC-UACOMP) is seeking a dynamic and visionary academic leader to serve as an Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Specialist within our Division of Gastroenterology/Hepatology. This academic health science center offers a culture of collegiality and robust infrastructure supporting translational research. This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished physician-scientist or clinical leader to shape the future of IBD care, drive innovative clinical research, and mentor the next generation of academic gastroenterologists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership for the IBD program, including clinical operations, research initiatives, and educational programs.
• Develop and expand a multidisciplinary, patient-centered IBD care model.
• Lead and grow a robust clinical research program with support from institutional infrastructure.
• Mentor junior faculty, fellows, and trainees in clinical practice, academic development, and research.
• Collaborate with colleagues across specialties including surgery, pathology, and radiology to ensure integrated care.
• Maintain active clinical practice in IBD.
• Collaborate with Division Chief of Gastroenterology/Hepatology to identify strategic planning

• Strong record of clinical research and/or translational research in IBD.
