Vista Community Clinic (VCC) is hiring for an internal medicine/family medicine physician to deliver comprehensive outpatient care at our Fallbrook, CA clinics. The role includes preventive care, immunizations, treatment, health education, and coordination with PAs and NPs to ensure high-quality patient services.

The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to policies, patient confidentiality, and active participation in quality improvement and clinic operations.

Qualifications

  • Current Medical License (MD or DO) in California; board eligible or certified.
  • Current DEA license.
  • CPR Certification (including BLS for Child, Infant, Adult).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient Internal Medicine/Family Medicine services.
  • Supervise and collaborate with PA/NP and students as required.
  • Deliver primary and ambulatory care, include preventive care and health education.
  • Maintain confidentiality and complete documentation.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Provide comprehensive outpatient Internal Medicine/Family Medicine Services. Services may include: preventive care, immunizations, primary care and treatment, health education, prescribing of medication, ordering and interpreting lab testing or imaging, order and action referrals based on patient need, physical examinations, screening examinations, family planning, and other services within the scope of training. Supervise and collaborate with PA/NP and/or students as required.

Essential Job Functions

Provide primary care and ambulatory outpatient care to clinic patients in person by interviewing, examining, and treating clinic patients; documenting, and completing notes and inbox items while maintaining confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations

    • Assist in resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients
    • Participate in providing direction or training to clinic staff to increase staff awareness and to facilitate patient care
    • Participate in the development of clinic protocols and procedures to ensure quality medical care; comply with clinic policies and procedures
    • Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement and utilization review; and peer review programs which evaluates the quality of the medical staff and medical services being performed at the clinics
    • Provide supervision and consultation to physician assistants and nurse practitioners in person or via telephone or virtual means
    • Attend and actively participate in internal and external meetings to expand and to improve patient services
    • Support the vision, mission and goals, and demonstrate a commitment to the values of the organization
    • Perform other duties as directed
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Medical License (MD or DO) in state of California; board eligible or certified
  • Current DEA license
  • CPR Certification (including BLS Child, Infant, Adult with one-time hands-on skills training)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  • Knowledge of community health centers, and public assistance programs, state and federal regulations and managed care systems
  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, clinicians and other staff
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner, including people of all social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programs
  • Ability and willingness to meet the organization’s attendance and dress code policies
  • Ability and willingness to abide by organization’s policies related to documentation, workflows and patient care guidelines
  • Meet productivity and quality standards as defined by the organization
  • Ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner
  • Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Experience/familiarity with computers, business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilities; proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
  • Ability to utilize electronic health record

Salary

  • $110.57 - $163.46 per hour - depending On experience
