Alliance Orthopedics is seeking a Physician Extender in Fair Lawn, NJ to join a multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on medical care coordination, clinical history, and supporting physicians with a broad range of duties in a fast-growing practice.

The ideal candidate holds a New Jersey Athletic Trainer License, with a degree from an accredited Athletic Training Education Program, and experience in patient care and EMR systems. On-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical coordination and patient-care orientation.
• Excellent communication with patients and team members.
• Ability to manage schedules, notes, imaging studies, and care plans.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with patients and understand their goals.
• Coordinate medical care and obtain clinical history.
• Record vitals, test results, and progress notes with confidentiality.
• Serve as liaison between physician and patient to support care.
• Conduct post-procedure follow-ups the next day.
• Distribute necessary Durable Medical Equipment when needed.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and healthcare regulations.
• Assist Clinic Supervisor with additional administrative duties.
• Collaborate with all healthcare disciplines to improve patient outcomes.

Alliance Orthopedics, the region's most dynamic multidisciplinary practice, is seeking an energetic, motivated, and articulate addition to our team! Our Physician Extenders work side-by-side with our medical team. ATCs are an integral part of our sports medicine team of medical doctors, orthopedic surgeons, functional medicine practitioners, and pain management physicians. Additionally, our Physician Extenders function as the medical liaisons to our conservative care team of chiropractors, physical therapists, clinical athletic trainers, occupational therapists, exercise physiologists, and more! The ideal candidate will thrive in this role given the clinical background that ATCs possess. A licensed athletic trainer brings a unique role and perspective to the medical arm of our practice.

ON THE JOB TRAINING PROVIDED!!! (Must possess a valid Athletic Trainer License in the state of New Jersey to be considered for the role)

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Build rapport and relationships with our patients! Understand THEIR GOALS!
• Primary responsibility pertains to medical care coordination. Obtain clinical history and perform preliminary assessments/evaluations
• Organize physician schedules, notes, imaging studies, care plans, etc. Record patient vitals, test results, progress notes, and other medical information while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Become the compassionate liaison between the physician and patient, providing support, attention, and encouragement to the patients and their families
• Conduct post-procedure next day follow-up
• Facilitate distribution of necessary Durable Medical Equipment
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including but not limited to, HIPAA and OSHA
• Partner with the Clinic Supervisor to execute additional administrative duties
• Stand out as a valuable team member, bringing energy in collaboration with all other healthcare disciplines in a team setting to help our patients get BETTER EVERYDAY!

Requirements:

• Valid New Jersey Athletic Trainer License REQUIRED
• Degree from and accredited Athletic Training Education Program
• Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for scope of practice
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills, especially the ability to show compassion for patients coming from all walks of life
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
• Willingness to challenge patients, other team members, and yourself!
