Job Description

The Physician Executive, EHR Strategy & Customer Engagement is a cross-functional clinical and strategic leader responsible for shaping and advancing Oracle Health’s end-to-end EHR and clinical suite modernization strategy. Leveraging Oracle Health’s leadership in healthcare technology and the full capabilities of Oracle Fusion to connect clinical and enterprise operations, this role bridges strategic vision, product innovation, and executive customer engagement.

Success in this role requires exceptional executive presence, influence, and relationship-building skills. The Physician Executive must effectively engage and align stakeholders across a highly matrixed environment, including senior leaders, customers, product teams, engineering organizations, and cross-functional partners with varying levels of clinical, operational, and technical expertise. While this role may not always possess direct decision-making authority, it is expected to drive meaningful outcomes through credibility, strategic influence, collaboration, and trusted relationships.

The ideal candidate thrives in complex, fast-paced environments where priorities evolve rapidly and organizational dynamics require agility, resilience, and sound judgment. This individual demonstrates a low-ego, enterprise-first mindset, balancing advocacy with curiosity and collaboration, while maintaining a relentless focus on delivering measurable business and customer impact.

Be aware: This role requires up to 70% travel: Customers, Events, Internal onsite meetings etc.

Serving as a primary clinical advisor to senior health system stakeholders, the Physician Executive leads executive-level discussions, strategic alignment, and transition planning for Oracle Health’s cloud-based, AI-enabled EHR ecosystem. The role champions both clinician and patient needs while ensuring AI-driven solutions deliver measurable improvements in clinical quality, operational performance, financial outcomes, and user experience.

Drawing on customer engagement insights, market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive intelligence, this leader identifies strategic priorities and partners closely with product, engineering, and business teams to infuse clinical perspective into product strategy, design, and development. The Physician Executive also plays a critical role in strengthening customer relationships, guiding modernization initiatives, and positioning Oracle Health as the trusted partner for the future of healthcare delivery.

This role is designed for a physician leader who can create significant impact through influence rather than authority, build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization, navigate complex and evolving stakeholder environments with agility and humility, and consistently deliver results in high-visibility, high-stakes situations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clinical Experience: MD or DO degree with 10+ years of active or recent clinical practice experience in the United States, including direct clinical experience using Cerner and/or Oracle Health EHR platforms.
  • Healthcare Technology Transformation: Demonstrated experience leading or supporting clinical adoption, implementation, or optimization of health information technology, EHR platforms, or digitally enabled care models within healthcare organizations.
  • Clinical Workflow & Operational Improvement: Proven track record of driving improvements in clinical workflows, patient safety, clinician experience, operational efficiency, or care delivery through technology and process transformation initiatives.
  • Executive Communication & Collaboration: Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders, including clinicians, health system executives, product and engineering teams, and IT leadership.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic EHR Modernization: Partner with C-suite healthcare leaders, including CMOs, CMIOs, CIOs, and CEOs, to define and execute modernization strategies and transition roadmaps to Oracle Health’s cloud-native, AI-enabled EHR ecosystem.
  • AI & Clinical Transformation Evangelism: Serve as a trusted clinical advisor on Oracle Health’s AI-enabled EHR and Autonomous AI Agents, helping health systems address clinician burnout, workforce efficiency, revenue cycle performance, and patient engagement through safe, responsible, and scalable AI adoption.
  • Executive Customer Engagement: Lead executive-level discussions that align clinical, operational, and financial priorities with Oracle Health’s strategic vision, strengthening strategic partnerships and enabling successful transformation initiatives.
  • Executive Influence & Stakeholder Alignment: Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all organizational levels, leveraging influence, credibility, and strategic communication to align diverse perspectives, navigate competing priorities, and drive consensus around critical business and customer outcomes. Operate effectively in environments where authority is distributed across multiple decision-makers and success depends on collaboration, alignment, and organizational influence rather than formal reporting relationships.
  • Product Strategy & Market Intelligence: Translate insights from customer engagements, clinical workflows, market trends, and competitive intelligence into actionable product strategy, innovation priorities, and roadmap recommendations.
  • Workflow Transformation & Adoption: Guide organizations through workflow redesign, change management, and adoption strategies that enable an "agent-assisted", technology-enabled model of care delivery while improving clinician experience, care quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Enterprise Influence: Lead through influence across product, engineering, consulting, sales, customer success, and executive leadership teams to ensure clinical perspective informs enterprise strategy, product innovation, and customer transformation efforts. Navigate complex organizational structures and diverse stakeholder interests to accelerate decision-making, remove barriers, and drive strategic outcomes.
  • Executive Influence & Organizational Navigation: Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and credibility with senior executives, physicians, operational leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders. Proven success driving strategic initiatives in highly matrixed organizations where outcomes depend on influence rather than direct authority. Ability to align diverse stakeholder groups around common goals while effectively navigating competing priorities, ambiguity, and complex decision-making structures.
