AdvantageCare Physicians in New York seeks an Endocrinology-trained physician to join our multispecialty group providing full-scope endocrinology services in outpatient settings.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of endocrinology experience, board eligibility/certification in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, and NY licensure. Excellent communication, patient-centered care, and a focus on population health are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.
• New York State license or eligibility; DEA registration eligibility.
• BLS or ACLS certification preferred.
• Outpatient endocrinology experience and interest in population health.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat endocrine disorders in outpatient setting.
• Provide cost-effective diabetes care with CDE/RD support.
• Perform evaluations and design individualized treatment plans.
• Share on-call responsibilities on a six weeks rotation basis.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with the clinical team.
• Recommend preventive health measures and lifestyle counseling.
• Prescribe medications and manage disease trajectory.
• Engage in staff education and meetings.

Summary Of Position

We are seeking an Endocrinology trained physician to join our multispecialty group in pursuit of high-quality patient care to provide full scope Endocrinology services.

The Ideal Candidate

• One to three years of endocrinology clinical experience in an outpatient setting.
• Ability to diagnose and treat a wide variety of endocrinology conditions with a focus on improving patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate competency in diagnosis and treatment to assure high standards of patient care and safety are maintained.
• Patient-centered approach toward a positive patient experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Interest in Population Health Management.

Principal Accountabilities

• Diagnose and treat patients with a variety of hormonal diseases and conditions related to the endocrine systems.
• Provide comprehensive cost-effective diabetes care with available support of CDE/RD services.
• Conducts physical evaluation and diagnostic tests to determine diagnosis and design individualized treatment plans.
• Share on-call phone answering responsibilities with other Endocrinologists, at present on or about every six weeks rotation basis.
• Review patient's history and perform physical examinations. Evaluate, diagnose and provide appropriate treatment and patient care.
• Recommend suitable management for the patient, including but not limited to, preventive health recommendations and habits.
• Prescribe medications and formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans.
• Provide relationship-centered care, taking into account the patient’s psychosocial and physical needs.
• Collect and record patient information, such as medical histories, reports and examination results. Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care.
• Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.

Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent.
• Completion of two year post graduate medical training from an accredited fellowship program in area of practice (e.g., (Endocrine, Diabetes, and Metabolism Medicine). Seeking both experienced and newly trained providers.

Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Board Eligible/Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology
• Must possess current, unrestricted New York State license or be eligible for licensure. Must possess Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration
• Must possess Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll
• BLS or ACLS certification required but both strongly preferred
• Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written.
• Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.
