Job summary

Avera Dermatology Mitchell is seeking a physician to provide direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care within a defined practice area. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care and education in a supportive environment.

The role requires medical licensure in the service state, board certification or eligibility, and a current DEA license. Regular day shifts and a commitment to safety and quality are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed and board certified or board eligible in the state of service.
• Active DEA license or eligibility required at hire.
• Commitment to professional medical standards and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to approved protocols.
• Provides medical services and health education to patients and families.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as part of patient care.
• Interprets diagnostic information and formulates care plans.
• Maintains patient records with accurate information and ensures safety.
• Collaborates with care team and facilitates appropriate referrals.

Education

Medical Doctor - Board of Medicine Licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided

Doctor of Osteopathy - Board of Medicine Licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided

Federal Drug Enforcement Admin - US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Admin license

A Brief Overview

What You Will Do

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.
• Provides medical services and health education to patients and family members. Effectively contributes to the health education of individuals and groups and applies appropriate methods designed to increase each person’s motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care.
• Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Interprets information gathered during the diagnostic process and formulates appropriate plan of care.
• Provides quality care for patient, demonstrates appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices.
• Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care. Effectively provides patient instruction related to environment of care and safety standards.
• Understands, applies, and supports practice policies, procedures, goals and standards.
• Meets regularly with the care team for consultation and collaboration as well as with personnel to promote quality care for patients. Assures that appropriate referrals are made for patients.
• Maintains patient records and accurate information.

Required Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• Medical Doctor - Board of Medicine Licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided and board certified or board eligible Upon Hire or
• Doctor of Osteopathy - Board of Medicine Licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided and board certified or board eligible and board certified or board eligible Upon Hire and
• Federal Drug Enforcement Admin - US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Admin State and federal DEA license based on state of practice Upon Hire
