Job summary

Community Health Centers of America in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Dermatologist to diagnose and treat skin, hair and nail conditions in family practice clinics and contracted facilities. You will develop treatment plans and perform medical and cosmetic procedures, independently or with the team.

This role offers a collaborative, patient-focused environment with opportunities for Mohs surgery, Botulinum toxin injections, lasers, and comprehensive skin care within a multi-site setting.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school and residency completed.
• ABD-accredited Dermatology fellowship completed.
• Board certified or board eligible in Dermatology in California.
• Active medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure in California.
• 3–5 years of related experience; or equivalent education/experience.
• Knowledge of dermatology procedures and terminology.
• Current BLS/ACLS required; current DEA required.
• Experience in a multi-specialty or FQHC setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat skin, hair, and nail conditions and maladies.
• Develop and implement treatment plans; prescribe medications.
• Perform in-office procedures including Mohs surgery, Botox, lasers.
• Order, interpret diagnostic tests and coordinate care with teams.

Community Health Centers of America is hiring for a Dermatologist to work in our family practice clinics and contracted long-term care facilities in the Sacramento, CA area. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating acute, episodic, or chronic skin, hair and nail conditions, creating treatment plans, and performing medical and cosmetic procedures, independently or as part of a healthcare team, in the clinic setting.

Job Description:

Clinical Duties:

• Obtain, analyze, and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
• Assess and diagnose patients' skin, hair, and nail conditions and ailments to determine appropriate treatment.
• Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
• Prescribe medications.
• Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions.
• Educate patients and families on available treatments and preventative care strategies.
• Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic testing relevant to dermatology.
• Conduct in-office procedures, which can include medical, surgical (e.g., Mohs surgery), and cosmetic treatments (e.g., Botox, lasers).
• Refer patients to specialists as needed.
• Perform follow-up visits to monitor patients or evaluate health or illness care.
• Collaborate with primary care and specialty providers to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
• Provide consultative support to other providers in the clinic and affiliated facilities.

Administrative Duties:

• Maintain complete, accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical team meetings.
• Support the development of clinical protocols and patient education materials.
• Participate in teaching opportunities or case conferences, if applicable.
• Supervise or coordinate patient care or support staff activities.
• Maintain current knowledge of state legal regulations for practice.
• Keep abreast of regulatory processes and payer systems.
• Practice safe and healthy control methods while working with patients.
• Ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures.

• Follow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
• Follow facility and GHR Unusual Occurrence Protocol
• Respect cultural and religious practices of minor patients
• Uphold HIPAA regulations
• Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts
