Job description

Seeking a full-time Faculty Physician to serve as Division Chief of Procedural Cardiology. Join us in advancing academic medicine and community health while shaping the future of medical education in Southwest Ohio.

  1. Candidate must be BE/BC in Cardiology.
  2. Seven to ten years of relevant health care leadership experience; prior leadership experience in a service line at a system level is preferred.
  3. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team that blends academic medicine with clinical practice across Dayton and the surrounding region.
  4. As a faculty member, you will play an integral role in educating and training medical students, residents, and fellows, while providing care to a diverse patient population in a variety of clinical settings.
  5. In this role, you will be part of both one of the largest and most comprehensive healthcare systems in Southwest Ohio, and Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine.
  6. This partnership creates a dynamic environment where patient care, clinical research, and medical education intersect.
  7. As a faculty physician, you will contribute to improving patient outcomes, advancing clinical innovation, and shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
  8. The physician will partner with other administration leaders on strategic growth initiatives.
  9. Position will be 0.2 FTE Administrative and 0.8 FTE Clinical.
  10. Responsible and accountable for specific area of responsibility for service line operations involvement to strategy implementation.
  11. Leader will have the responsibility of improving care across the continuum while driving exceptional quality and service.
  12. Responsibilities include influencing the delivery of care, including total cost of care, determining service standards, and working with chief medical officers on prioritization of quality initiatives.
  13. Focused on improving access through service line distinctiveness.
  14. Leads the development of clinical pathways and model management.
  15. Improves provider engagement and productivity.
  16. Builds relationships with locally preferred physicians through a partnership atmosphere.
  17. Works with physician leads on clinical improvement, innovation, and education.
  18. Leads service line meetings, encourages participation from all members, and ensures a system view.
  19. Co-develops the division service line agenda with the service line VP, facilitates discussions, and defines the scope of activities covered by the council.
  20. Fosters a culture of collaboration and teamwork across all entities and medical staff.
