Job summary

Inspira Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide urgent care and occupational health services in Mantua Township, NJ. You will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, conduct DOT exams, and manage tests and treatments with guidance from the care team.

The role requires a Master’s degree from an accredited PA program, NCCPA certification, and active NJ PA license, plus BLS and CDS/DEA licenses.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in urgent care or ER preferred.
• Current NCCPA certification and NJ PA license, DEA & NJ CDS license, BLS.
• National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent care and occupational health services, including assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries.
• Conduct physical examinations, obtain medical histories, perform DOT physicals, and order/interpret tests.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications, and educate patients on health maintenance.
• Perform minor procedures (suturing, I&D, splinting, wound care) and maintain accurate EHR records.
• Collaborate with the care team and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

MAJOR FUNCTION:

The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients seeking urgent medical attention as well as occupational health services. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries.

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain medical histories
• Perform DOT physicals
• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, lab work, and EKGs
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapies
• Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention
• Perform minor procedures, such as suturing, I&D, splinting, and wound care
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in urgent care or ER preferred
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently

Licensure/ Certification:

• Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active and unrestricted PA license in NJ
• DEA & NJ Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) license
• BLS certification
• Obtain National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners certification within 6 months of accepting the job
