Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license to practice in the United States.
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Demonstrated experience or clinical rotations in urgent care, emergency medicine, or related acute care settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations to evaluate urgent medical conditions.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, including minor fractures, lacerations, infections, and respiratory issues.
• Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests such as lab work and imaging studies to inform clinical decisions.
• Perform minor surgical procedures and administer medications as appropriate within the scope of practice.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient encounters accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medication usage, and follow-up care instructions.
• Respond efficiently to emergency situations and escalation care when necessary to ensure patient safety.
