Job summary

Houston Methodist Primary Care Group is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Physician Assistant for Primary Care to deliver high-quality care in an outpatient setting. Under physician supervision, you will diagnose, treat, and prevent illness, perform physicals, order tests, prescribe medications, and refer patients to specialists as needed.

Two years of APP experience, especially in primary care, and a Master's degree or higher are required.

At Houston Methodist, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Phys Asst – Primary Care position is responsible for maintaining and promoting the health of the patient requiring primary care, while practicing medicine under the supervision of a licensed physician. This position will provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative care to primary care patients. This position may conduct physicals, order tests and therapy, prescribe medications, and refer to specialists when appropriate. This position works in an outpatient primary care setting and may perform independently under the indirect supervision of a license physician or as part of a treatment team. The APP Phys Asst – Primary Care position may be a licensed Physician Assistant and effect direct patient care according to the Board of Physician Assistants in the State of Texas and Houston Methodist policies and procedures.

• Contributes to department plans for resource utilization and capital needs to meet department financial target.
