Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Washington state is seeking a Physician Assistant Resident to join a collaborative care team. You will provide primary medical services under supervision, aligning with Sea Mar’s mission and guidelines.

The role requires PA-C licensure, completion of an accredited PA program, and a commitment to immunization and preventive health programs. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, and experience with geriatric and community health populations is a plus.

• The Physician Assistant Resident (PA Resident) is part of a care team working to provide quality comprehensive services to Sea Mar patients. The PA Resident will work collaboratively with staff to provide team-based coordinated care.

• The PA Resident provides primary medical care services to patients of Sea Mar Community Health Centers in accordance with training, experience, certification, insurance and licensure, under the supervision of the Medical Director and/or Chief Medical Officer and in compliance with their personal utilization management plan and in a manner consistent with guidelines established in the principles of practice at Sea Mar and its mission statement.

• The PA Resident may refer patients to medical specialists or other sources of service when necessary.

• The PA Resident prescribes and/or dispenses required medication to patients according to the individual prescriptive authority granted by the Washington State Board and with the sponsoring physician’s supervision.

• The PA Resident participates in preventive health programs such as immunization, disease detection and disease prevention activities. This includes education programs for patients and community groups in the service areas with the approval of the APP Residency Director, supervising physician, Medical Director, and/or Health Center Administrator.

• The PA Resident is expected to participate in clinical affairs, working with administrative personnel, the NP Residency Director, Medical Director and the Chief Medical Officer to improve the patient care experience.

• The PA Resident provides care for special groups of patients such as those in nursing homes or other institutions when appropriate.

• The PA Resident will fulfill all residency requirements as detailed in the curriculum and as required by the APP Residency Director.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and interest in Latino/Hispanic culture is needed.
• Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, and Medical Screening Basic

• Education:

  • Baccalaureate degree or a minimum of two (2) years of college credits
  • State licensed Physician Assistant-Certified

• Medical Screening Requirements:

  • Pre-Hire and annual employee health screening required
  • Annual influenza vaccine required. Only exception is for employees with a medical or religious exemption approved by Administration. Employees with an approved medical or religious exemption must wear a mask at all time during the flu season.

• Minimum Formal Training:

  • Successful completion of an accredited physician assistant programCertified by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA)To prescribe legend drugs, the Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) must have notation of approval on licenseA current DEA certificate is required if applicant is requesting privileges to prescribe controlled substances.This position must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and is required to maintain current BLS CPR throughout employmentAdditional education may be required for some specialty areas (orthopedics, etc.).
    Salary - Salary Plan, 93,500.00 USD Annual
