Owensboro Health is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Pulmonology Owensboro department to provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care under physician supervision. This is a full-time 1.0 FTE position within Owensboro Health Medical Group.

Responsibilities include patient history intake, diagnostic procedures, treatment management with prescriptive authority or referrals, and patient education for preventive care.

Weekend Requirements: N/A | Work Hours: M-F | Status: Full Time - 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) | Entity: Owensboro Health Medical Group | Department: Pulmonology Owensboro

Under the supervision of a physician provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services.

Job Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
• Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic procedures.
• Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
• May be required to perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care.
• Provides accurate and timely documentation of assessment and patient care plan.
• May coordinate the registration functions including collecting and entering demographic, insurance, employer information, and co-payments.
• May assist in operating room.

Physician Asst - Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND NCCPA - National Physician Assistant certification through National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required upon hire
