Job summary

Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery is seeking a Physician Assistant specialized in Physiatry to deliver high-quality patient care within a busy practice. The role requires direct patient care, documentation, and collaboration with physicians to develop comprehensive care plans.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience in Physiatry or related fields, is licensed in Washington and Oregon, and holds NCCPA certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required and PA program must be accredited.
  • Current WA and OR PA licenses required.
  • NCCPA board certification is required or active certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care including examinations, diagnoses and documentation.
  • Perform procedures such as injections and other therapies per protocol.
  • Educate patients and families about regimens, surgeries and post-operative care.
  • Maintain patient records accurately and ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to develop and implement care plans.

Job description

Rebound is the largest orthopedic and neurosurgical practice in the Portland-Vancouver area with an array of sub-specialties including orthopedics, brain and spine care, sports medicine, physiatry, and physical therapy. We are proud to be the team physicians for the Portland Winterhawks and several collegiate teams and are headquartered in Southwest, Washington just across the river from Portland, Oregon and a 90-minute drive to either the beach or mountains. Hiking trails, parks, excellent schools, arts and culture, fine dining and food carts are abundant in our region.

We are hiring for a full-time or part-time Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician Assistant position. The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care, have excellent communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to include, but not limited to, examinations, physicals, diagnosis, and documenting patient medical data and health histories.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections and shockwave therapy.
  • Provide acute and chronic care according to protocol. Monitor effective therapy.
  • Administer or order appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests. Interpret and convey test results.
  • Develop and implement appropriate care management plan. Strictly adhere to pre and post op protocols.
  • Educate patients and families about therapeutic regimens, surgery and procedures, pre and post-operative care, and other relevant information. Triage patient phone calls to facilitate patient care delivery.
  • Demonstrate positive and effective written and verbal communication skills with patients, families and co-workers.
  • Document clear, concise and accurate clinical information in the patient record in a timely manner.
  • Maintain, interpret and apply basic clinical practice statistics.
  • Respond to medical emergencies including CPR.
  • Adhere to practice standards and PA code of ethics.
  • Utilize and conduct research/inquiry appropriate to clinical setting.
  • Provide leadership by serving as role model and resource.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to, and enforce, policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Physician's Assistant in Physiatry/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurosurgery, Sports Medicine, and/or Pain Medicine. Previous experience in ordering interventional spine procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree required, MS preferred.
  • Graduate of physician assistant training program that is accredited and approved by CAHEA, CAAHEP, and/or ARC-PA.
  • Current Washington and Oregon PA license.
  • Certified through National Commission on Certification of PhysicianAssistants (NCCPA).
  • BLS or ACLS certified.
  • Current DEA License and NPI number is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers.
