Job summary

Dermatology of New Mexico is seeking a Physician Assistant dedicated to dermatology. The PA will provide high-quality dermatologic care under a physician supervisor, document care in the EHR, and contribute to ongoing quality initiatives.

The role requires a MPAS, NM PA license, and at least 2 years of dermatology experience. DEA and BLS certification are required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Excellent benefits and opportunities are offered in a full-time position.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a Physician Assistant Program.
• Must hold a current unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant from the New Mexico Medical Board.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Physician Assistant specializing in Dermatology.
• DEA registration current.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus but not required.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, treat and refer dermatology patients in outpatient settings.
• Refer patients for specialty care, labs and imaging as appropriate in collaboration with supervising physician.
• Maintain electronic health records (EHR) per clinic policies.
• Provide timely medical services within clinic schedule and scope of practice.
• Review lab and pathology reports and assist in medical management decisions.
• Maintain productivity and efficient patient flow.
• Deliver excellent customer service in person, by phone, or electronically.
• Follow policies and participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Participate in health promotion and clinic meetings as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Full Job Description

We are seeking a Physician Assistant who is dedicated to dermatology, compassionate about patient care, hardworking and driven to compliment the company's culture.

The Physician Assistant provides quality, medical dermatological care by treating conditions of the skin while ensuring the highest standard of patient care, under the supervision of a board-certified physician. Provides advanced practice health care services as well as documentation of services, collaboration with colleagues, clinical leadership and with supervising physicians. Participates in quality assurance and demonstrates a commitment to quality health care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. 1. Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers Dermatology patients on an out-patient basis. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, recommends skin treatments and advice on skin health tips and best practices.
2. 2. Refers clients for appropriate specialty care services, lab and imaging studies and any other ancillary services that are appropriate for patient’s management and care consulting with supervising physician as needed.
3. 3. Maintains electronic health records (EHR) for each patient seen in accordance with the Center’s established Health Information Management policies and procedures providing appropriate, legible documentation.
4. 4. Assures continuity of care by providing medical services on a timely basis as per Clinic schedule within the Center’s scope of practice and the Physician Assistants training.
5. 5. Reviews all lab and pathology reports for patients under his/her care on a timely basis and makes medical management decisions appropriately with supervising physicians as needed.
6. 6. Maintains appropriate productivity standards of speciality as established by the Practice. Maintains appropriate and efficient patient flow and minimizes schedule changes and absences.
7. 7. Provides excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, electronically, fax or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their health care needs.
8. 8. Follows established departmental and clinic policies, procedures, and objectives. Contributes to continuous quality improvements objectives and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
9. 9. Participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs as needed. Attends and participates in clinic meetings, departmental meetings and other clinic functions as required by the Center when applicable.
10. 10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

100k-250k depending on experience.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
